Bio:

Terry Allen is Managing Director for our Midwest region from the Kansas City, Missouri and Des Moines, Iowa offices.  Ms. Allen has conducted appraisals for a variety of purposes including federal gift and estate tax, employee stock ownership plans, tender offers, mergers and acquisitions, fairness opinions, intellectual property and other intangible assets, dissolutions, and litigation support involving economic damages.  She has testified as an expert witness in court concerning the value of closely held businesses.  Before joining The Financial Valuation Group in 1999, she valued businesses for 12 years with Reiss Corporation and RSM McGladrey. 

Ms. Allen is a CPA, Accredited in Business Valuation, and is certified as an Accredited Senior Appraiser by the American Society of Appraisers.  She is currently active on several national committees of the American Society of Appraisers ("ASA") and is the editor of ASA's weekly Business Valuation E-Letter.  She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs’ (“AICPA’s”) Business Valuation Technical Issues Advisory Board and, for two years, was a member of the AICPA’s Business Valuation Accreditation Examination Committee. 

Ms. Allen has been a speaker on business valuation issues at seminars and conferences sponsored by various national and state professional organizations, including the AICPA, the American Society of Appraisers, the National Litigation Services Association, various Estate Planners Councils, the Iowa State Association of Assessors, the Software Association, the Iowa Bar Association, and the Kansas Bar Association.  She has taught accounting and finance at the college level and presently is a faculty member for the ASA business valuation accreditation program.
